"It Is Not All For The Show, Say no.... To The Fabricated News!" Yes, I believe that the news I hear/read/watch may be factually incorrect or fabricated because news reporters tend to inflate an occurring situation to make it more interesting. I thought the news articles were surprising, but after reading them and taking the time to understand things, it does not shock me to find out that professional journalists have fabricated news. I do agree with Shafer's assertion because liars do tend to make things up and convince themselves that what they are telling others is true news and that it is what they heard, but really it is what they have produced themselves. I strongly believe that colleagues and universities should make sure graduating journalism students can handle the responsibilities and pressures because clearly, they will need to use those skills in the real world. I gave this news article this score because this event happened on Sunday and the article was posted on Monday, October 16, 2017, two days after the event occurred. I believe they should have had it posted on Saturday night and/or Sunday morning, but maybe they do not publish on the weekends. Significance - 2.5/4. I believe this article only affects citizens who leave in the area that was affected by party goers and the board of Dalhousie University. Therefore, I do not believe it has a great significance. Proximity - 4/4. The geographical proximity for a Canadian reader is relatively close, making it interesting for Canadian readers because they recognize the location. Prominence - 2/4. "Drunk driving accident leads to death of teen." Fernando Waters died on impact in a drunk driving accident on Friday, October 6, 2017.  This occurred in Rapidsville, right outside Fernando's home.  Fernando was driving under the influence, going 180 miles per hour when he lost control of his vehicle, which sent him into a telephone pole.  When first responders arrived, Fernando was unconscious. It was at the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Luckily, no one else was involved in the accident.  " My team and I tried everything we could to save Fernando. Journal Entry #1: "First Newspapers" The delivery of information:  Compared to today, some of the obvious differences between historical newspapers and today's newspapers is historical newspapers did not have any photos. Newspapers today have many photos that relate to the main event. Another difference is today's newspapers include sports news, main events and obituaries. Newspapers back then did not include as much information about a variety of different things. Newspapers todsy are also alot more expensive than they were in historical times. Reading news online you are able to watch a video clip to see live footage of the main events; long ago you were not able to do so. You were also not able to view others opinions of a topic, while now, people are able to post a comment/reaction of their thoughts on the event.
